Abstract

This android mobile application implements the Augmented Reality (AR) technology specifically fitting spectacle frames. The Spectacle Frames using Augmented Reality (SpecFAR) mobile application is aimed at developing a fitting frame using AR including other interactive features which is useful to both user and optometrist or eyewear shop. Generally, the customer who wants to try and buy a spectacle frame need to come to the eyewear shop for fitting frames which is leading to less efficient in consuming time. Based on the problem, the proposed mobile application is one of the solutions that can be developed for spectacle frames using AR. Besides, the popularity of mobile application with AR is one of the reasons that this mobile application is suitable to be developed. Since most of the people nowadays are using smartphones, mobile applications can easily be downloaded and available on their smartphone. In this report, how the proposed application will be analyzed for solving the problem and achieving the objectives will be discussed. Based on this project, there are 30 users involved in the testing for this application. From the overall result, there is a high percentage of satisfaction with the SpecFAR application. As a result, the mobile application with the present of AR could attract and motivate the user to keep using the mobile app and get experienced AR by themselves.
