Abstract

Internet of Things (IoT) is a new trend technology that helps us link objects and mechanism to the internet for remote control. The proposed system called as has IoT based notification for declined road signs with solar energy implemented the Internet of Things technology to the road sign boards. It focuses on the road sign board because road sign board is very important in our daily lives to ensure the road user safety always be secured while on the road. IoT technology is adapted to proposed system to improve deficiencies in the current manual system used by the authorities by providing an instant alert notification in real-time for the user. The tilt sensor is used to detects and measures the leaning of the road sign board that is caused by any incidents such as the strong winds and collision from wild animals. Then, it will send alert notification to user via email and Short Messaging System (SMS) if reading has reach the threshold value. The proposed system also used solar system as its power resources to reduce the earth pollution. Moreover, Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology model is used to develop this project because it is suitable for short period of project development and flexible to any changes made. This project contains the background of this proposed system, methodology used, system design, system prototype and system improvement in the future.
