Abstract

Nowadays, with the current rapid technology advancement our hospital is still using a method which is already used for so many years. Hence, intervention of an integrated system is required to provide seamless care for patients. Therefore, an Android Mobile Application for Medical Appointment System is proposed to overcome the current method problem. The objective of this system is to develop a medical appointment system in Hospital Umum Miri. The purpose of implementing this application was to create a system through which a doctor can easily make an online appointment for patient through mobile device. The second objective was to replace manual medical file keeping system with online database management system. The reason behind creating this system is because currently most hospital in Malaysia still using manual file keeping and appointment system. This system aims to improve quality medical care by transforming the current paper-based patient’s history card into a computerized version which will be more secure as it cannot be damaged or lost and replacing manual medical file keeping with an online database.
