Abstract

Currently, UNIMAS sports complex does not have automatic lighting system especially in the indoor courts of the sport complex. Every sports complex or stadiums in universities consumes a great deal of electrical energy through traditional lighting systems. In previous days, staff and administrators need to switch on and off the lights manually in working days. The staff and administrators may not always be around in the area of the sport complex. The staff and administrators sometimes just allow the lights in the sports complex to turn on for the whole day although there is an absence of people at the particular courts. The proposed system is to develop an automatic lighting system that will helps students to turn on the lights automatically to carry out their sports activities. The automatic lighting system will be developed together with an online court booking system which can be integrated with the database system. This online booking system was designed and developed with several main functionalities such as students can book the courts via online, and the QR code will be generated after booking. The QR code generated is important for the students to activate the automatic lighting system by scanning the QR code using a QR code scanner that installed outside the indoor courts of the sport complex. The automatic lighting system will be operating after scanning of the QR code.
