Abstract

The thesis deads with a study of the significance of ergonomics and potential failure analysis with regard the ergonomics assessment among athletes at one of the famous gymnasium in Kota Samarahan. Ergonomic is very important aspect in design the ergonomic equipment as it corresponds to human factor, workplace and environment. It connects many types of scientific disciplines such as anthropometry, biomechanics and psychology. The lack of ergonomic features could result negative effects especially to athletes physical and mental health. In order to evaluate the posture problem due to comfort ability and ergonomics, survey has been conducted. This were implemented by distributing questionnaires sheet for athletes to find out their experience and opinions regarding uncomfortable feelings and injuries. Ergonomic problems commonly arise due to postural safety. For that reason, Electromyography (EMG), Kinovea software and Matlab software were used in this research to assess potential risk areas occur during deadlifting.
