Abstract

A study on species diversity of Heteroptera was conducted at Saremas and Segarmas, PPB Oil Palm Plantation for 15 days from 24th August 2014 until 30th August 2014 and 4th February 2015 until 11th February 2015. This study was conducted because there is no study on study diversity of true bugs in oil palm plantation and fragmented forest and there is lack of database on diversity of true bugs between these two study areas. Therefore, the data and voucher specimens available from this research will be useful as future references and studies of heteropterans. The objectives of this study are to determine species diversity of true bugs in selected oil palm plantation and fragmented forest and to compare species diversity of true bugs between oil palm plantation and fragmented forest. Samples were collected by using aerial net. A total of 258 individuals comprising of 24 species from five families were recorded from the study site. Reduviidae represented the most diverse family with 14 species followed by Pentatomidae with three species captured.
