Abstract

This study aims to study on the perspective of the employer towards employment of Person with Disabilities (PWDs) in high position. The study had been conducted in qualitative research method where the information gathered was been collected through phone interview and face to face interview. This research able to getsix informants where the informants worked as Human Resources Manager and Executive. All informants agreed that the opportunity for getting a job and opportunity to hold high position in one organization should be given to all people without taking the impairment that one person have. Employer nowadays have better understanding and more welcoming disabled people in their organization. However, there is a few factors that play major role in affecting employment rate of PWDs in private sector which is policy, cost of training, existing organization’s culture and employer’s favorable towards specific impairments. Hence, this study highlighting the factors, skills needed for consideration and also alternative that can be done to enhance employment of PWDs in Malaysia
