Abstract

The aim of this study is to study the relationship between 12 factors (health, financial, spirituality, self-management, academic, addiction, family, relationship, friend, environment, career and lecturer) that influence depression, anxiety and stress among pre-university students is Sarawak. A purposive sampling method were used by the researcher to collect data for this study and HENIs (Higher Education Needs for Students) online questionnaire is the instrument for this study. Total respondents who filled in the HENIs was 612 pre-university students aged 18 years old. Researcher used Pearson Product-Moment Correlation to see the significant relationship between 12 factors and depression, anxiety and stress and Multiple Linear Regression to study which is the domain factor for depression, anxiety and stress. The results showed that there are correlations between all of the 12 factors and depression, anxiety and stress. The domain factor for each dependent variable is; friend and stress, health and anxiety and self-management and depression. Based on the result, an intervention program need to be conducted for the students to gain more insights about depression, anxiety and stress. More counselors, psychologists and psychiatrist needed to help our society to overcome this mental health issue.
