Abstract

The aim of this study is to identify the relationship between empowerment and job performance among nurses in public hospital. The independent variable in this study are information sharing, authority and decision making while dependent variable is job performance. In addition, this study using a quantitative methodology and questionnaires as an instrument for the data collection. 70 sets of questionnaire were distributed to the nurses in government hospital that involved in this study. However, only 60 out of 70 questionnaires was given back and be used for data analysis. Pearson Correlation test had been chose in in order to identify the relationship between variables, while Multiple Regression test was used to identify the dominant factor that affect job performance among nurses. Then, this study find out that independent variables of information sharing and autonomy shows there is no relationship between these variables with job performance among nurses in Hospital Besar, Limbang. Thus, it recommended that the management of hospital have to practice the empowerment among nurses in the workplaces.
