Abstract

Urban and roadside trees (URT) provide many benefits in terms of environment, economic, social and aesthetic. The purpose of this research project was to assess public attitudes and perceptions towards URT in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail based on the 18 importance and performance attributes listed in the questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using Microsoft Excel, and Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software. The relationship between importance of URT and performance of tree planting in TTDI was studied using Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA). Based on IPA, the most important dimension of URT was on environment benefit, meanwhile the least important dimension was on economic benefit.
