Abstract

The main objective of this study is to explore the experience of the students who faced hysteria in colleges. This study also aims to provide an insight into the perceived factors leading to hysteria, the symptoms faced by the participants and the treatments used by the participants for healing. The method used for this research is a Qualitative Study using semi-structured interview questions as an instrument for data collection. Three participants were involved and interviewed. Data were analysed using Thematic Analysis. The findings help to identify the factors, symptoms and treatment of hysteria using a case study methodology with interviews. Hysteria can be caused by psychological factors, cultural and religion factors and psychiatric factors. The common symptoms of hysteria weren physical and mental symptoms.
