Abstract

A study of phytoplankton composition at Telaga Air was carried out to determine the phytoplankton community and to determine possible occurrences of HABs microalgae in Telaga Air. In this study, qualitative and quantitative sample of phytoplankton were obtained throughout early of October 2013 to end of February 2014. The in-situ water quality parameters such as pH, temperature, water transparency and also ex-situ water quality parameters with each of these factor shows different degree of measurement and influence towards phytoplankton composition was measured and collected during the sampling periods. A total of 19 phytoplankton had been identified to the genus level with sixteen diatoms (eight pennate and eight centric), two dinoflagellates and one cyanobacteria.
