Abstract

The diversity of the plants is crucial especially during the early stages of growth to provide the long term sustainability of the species. The suitable management practices is the important matter that need to be taken into serious consideration because it deals with the survival of the plants. The plant diversity at DBKU nursery was calculated, meanwhile the characteristic and morphology of the plants were observed and assess. The characteristics and appearance were observed and assess. The germination test was done to the three annual plants such as Vinnca pacifica, Salvia vista and Celosia sp. The germination percentages, subsequent growth performances and its management were calculated and observed throughout this study. Vinnca pacifica sp shows the highest germination percentage which was 96%, Salvia sp. 68% and Celosia sp. 10%. The types of pest and diseases were discussed management cares were taken to avoid any further infections. The estimated annual plants planted at the nursery throughout one year were about 720 seedlings per species. The productions for the annual plants per year is 66 000 meanwhile for Coleus sp., is 23 000. The management practices for germination were discussed.
