Abstract

In our society, there have many impaired patients are found and most of the these impaired patients are physically-impaired patients. Some of the physically-impaired patients cannot move their body easily especially to those who lost their leg. The physically-impaired patients need the wheeled chair or crutch to help them to move from one location to another location. But when they are moving, they do not have extra hand to help them to carry the items. Most of them need the help from the other people to complete their daily task such as laundry work. So, a single purpose carrier robot is developed to help them to carry the items. The single purpose carrier robot is developed with the combination of two concept, that is, concept of automated guided vehicle and the forklift system. These two concepts are usually being used in the industrial area to transport the materials from one point to another point effectively. Since the physicallyimpaired patients cannot control the robot when they are moving, the automated system is developed on the carrier robot so that the robot can operate based on the instruction through the signal from the sensors. Besides that, some analysis are also be done so that the carrier robot is safe for the physically-impaired patients to use it.
