Abstract

The idea of usi ng the sun's energy as an alternative energy resource made possible by the breakthrough of photoelectri c mechanism and successive development of the solar cell. Ever since the realisation of the upcoming shortage of fossil fuel and the hOlTendous effects of greenhouse effects, solar energy is becoming a popular choice as an alternative power source. The opportunity to greatly harness and utilize the usage of solar energy can be achieved by implementing the usage of an automatic solar tracker. The automatic solar tracker technology can be applied in the power production field which can provide major benefit to user involved in power production fi eld . The automatic solar tracker is a project that is developed to completely maximize the functi on of a solar panel. To detect the movement of the sun, a light sen sor such as LDRs are used and motor servo such as MG90S are used as the main motor servo to move the solar panel. Arduino Uno is used as the main mi crocontroller fo r this project. Arduino Uno software, ID E is used to program required commands for the vital transfer of signal between the signals received from the LDR to the Arduino Uno to the signa l that will be sent to the motor servo. This project development is the combination between the usage of software and hardware. The main aim of this project is to maximize the collection of solar energy in the solar panel with the assistance of a light sensor and motor servo for movement.
