Abstract

Stroke and lunge are the vital movements in badminton. However, there is still no existing research that has been used a three-dimensional (3D) modelling of CATIA software to investigate the effect of body parts’ angle towards the muscle force and spine force during stroking and lunging. The angle between the arm and forearm during stroking and the angle between the thigh and leg during lunging are needed to obtain the results of muscle force and spine force that will be gained by using a CATIA Biomechanics Single Action Analysis. This study is done to prevent the injury risk so that the players can enhance their skills, at the same time able to aware and take care of their own safety. The result of this project showed a 3D simulation of badminton stroke and lunge movement involving the analysis data of muscle forces at arm and thigh and also the spine forces.
