Abstract
Engkerurai was an Iban traditional musical instrument that only being played at the area of Batang Ai, Sarawak. This musical instruments was being played just for entertainment in order to spend their free time at long house. In this research, the motive of the melody of the repertoire that was played by the Engkerurai will be studied an analyzed. After the analyzed, the motive of the melody of the Engkerurai will been taken as a motive in a new composition with an orchestra. The new composition was composed in order to gain an interest among the new generation with a traditional musical instrument called Engkerurai. For the validation purpose, people that’s know well with the instruments will been asked for the data validation.
