Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship beetween marriage and self esteem among male inmates in Penjara Pusat Kuching. This quantitative study using questionnaire which has 3 parts that are demographic factor, Self Esteem inventory and Dyadic Relationship Scale inventory. Descriptive Analysis and Pearson Correlations were used to measure the relationship between the variables. The findings showed that there was no significant relationship between marriages and self esteem. This study also found that communication and norm and value do not have significant relationship with self esteem. Beside that, no correlation was found between selected demographic factors with self esteem. This study also provided suggestion to organization and future researcher to take a necessary action. As a conclusion, there was no relationship between marriages and self esteem.
