Their interest diminishes once they cannot relate the poetry learnt with their prior knowledge and culture. The ituation become worst whenever words used in the poems were difficult to understand, therefore the lesson often resulted into boring poetry session The finding also revealed that even with inadequate knowledge about poetry, most of the re pondents interviewed work hard to get the students to understand the poems and get them interested in poetry learning .The evidence can be seen in the effort they put in to come up with variety of techniques to present the poetry lesson.
