Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the mediating role of procedural justice in the relationship between performance appraisal practices and job satisfaction. Data for this study was collected through in – depth interview and survey questionnaires. For the survey method, 150 usable questionnaires were collected from management and non- management employees at Pejabat Pos Besar Kuching. The outcomes of stepwise analysis show that the inclusion of procedural justice in the analysis had increase the observed effect of performance appraisal issues (i.e., communication and participation) on job satisfaction. The result demonstrates that the procedural justice act as full mediating role in the performance appraisal model of the organization. In addition, implications of this study to theory, methodological and conceptual limitation, as well as direction for future research, are elaborated.
