Abstract

Sago industry has become very irnpOl1ant to Saravvak in terms of economic valu e. Growing of sago industry can contribute funher concern to environmental pollut ion from the generating of sago diluent. This study is conducted in order to examine the effect of selected microbial on the treatment of filtered sago efIluent. During experiment treatment is consisted of l\vO treatments where tirsl is treatment with five tank with different parameter and seco nd is treatment with three tank also with different parameter. After II days treatment of filtered sago emuent. Tank 2 with parameter 0.3 giL microbial amendment (Bak-Wira MP300), adjusted pH around 6.5 to 7.5 and aeration in the first treatment shows the best treatment. COD removal here is about 97%, while TSS removal is about 62.3%. For conclusion, clTect of microbial amendment in treatment of filtered sago effluent is ve ry effective to reduce contaminant in sago effiuent before discharging into environmental. FUl1her treatment of sago effluent is related to management of sludge produce during this treatment. Sludge can undergo further treatment such as composting material to produce humu s.
