Abstract

Increasing vocabulary is one part of language learning skills. This project seeks to find the vocabulary-teaching strategies used by ESL PKPG teachers. It also tries to look into the problems faced by the respective teachers in the teaching of vocabulary to students. Beside that, it serves as a study that looks into the training teachers have in ESL Methodology and to determine if there are any significant differences in vocabulary teaching strategies employed by the same teacher across the different level of students when bringing up meaning. The method used for the data collection is an interview that will be administered to twenty ESL PKPG teachers who were specializing in the teaching of English Language. They have at least five years of teaching experience and thus were able to reflect on their previous vocabulary teaching experiences during their Teaching Practice.
