Abstract
A study was carried out to examine the potential environmental impacts of peatland development in Sarawak and to assess the relevance and effectiveness of mitigating measures proposed to abate such impacts. The study involves collation and examination of EIA reports, literature and other documents related to peatland development, conducts field visits to selected plantations and interviewing a number of developers, environmental consultants and plantation personnel.
