Abstract

In Question Answering (QA), users are provided with direct answers, instead of full documents or links, as done by search engines. Also, QA allows the users to ask the questions in natural language instead of formulating structured queries. In the two previous question answering works that used structural rules, Quarc and QASARG, matching of the structural rules are done word-for-word. The problem with this type of matching is that it is rigid in nature. This may have contributed to the limited choice of answer candidates; hence it may have affected the accuracy levels.
